Today, I want to give a transparent update on the progress of Legacy V2 and the status of the Patreon access timeline. Let’s start with the hardest part: we had hoped to open V2 to Patreon members this weekend, but due to some unexpected setbacks, we need to postpone that launch.
This delay falls on me (Whitney). Over the past six weeks, I’ve been dealing with a lingering summer illness—COVID tests were negative, but symptoms have persisted—and unfortunately, I also experienced a recent family loss. On top of that, my weekends have been full with visiting family and other summer obligations. I’ll also be honest: balancing a full-time software development job with leading Legacy’s development has caught up with me, and I’ve been experiencing a bit of burnout that’s slowed my usual momentum.
That said, the core version of the game—the MVP—is complete. What remains before we can open the gates to Patreon members is focused bug fixing. Some of these fixes are essential before players can begin engaging with the game properly, which is why we’re holding off just a bit longer.
At this time, we are not setting a specific release date. Bug fixing can be highly unpredictable, and we’d rather avoid over-promising and under-delivering. That said, we’re currently estimating that Patreon access will begin within the next two to four weeks.
August will be a particularly busy month for both Lydia and me. Our birthdays are just two days apart, and we each have personal commitments and travel coming up—including a family surgery for Lydia’s husband and a work-related vacation trip on my end. With everything going on, our development time is a bit more limited than usual.
We truly appreciate your patience and continued support. We know delays can be frustrating, but please know we’re doing our best to bring you a stable, polished experience that’s worth the wait.
To give you a peek at just how far along we are—and how little remains—we’re inviting you to join us for a Livestream this Saturday at 1 PM EST, where we’ll showcase the current state of V2 and answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for sticking with us. We’re incredibly grateful to have such a passionate and understanding community by our side.
