Today, we’d like to share an update on where things stand with the upcoming Patreon release of Legacy V2. Despite August being an especially busy month for both of us, Whitney has made steady progress addressing the bugs identified during the last round of testing. As of this update, approximately 60% of those bugs have been fixed, with only around 65–75% needing to be resolved for the Patreon launch to move forward.

Now, before anyone gets too excited, there are still several key tasks that must be completed before we can open access to our Patreon supporters:

  • Complete remaining necessary bug fixes
  • Rework the free credit reward system (this will take a fair bit of effort)
  • Thoroughly test and update the in-game store
  • Rework the job system (this will take a fair bit of effort)
  • Finalize and implement the new phenotype genetics (more info on this soon!)
  • Implement the basics of the new tutorial system
  • Review the economy simulations
  • Set up the production server
  • Set up and migrate to the production database

As you can see, there’s still a fair amount left to do—and this list doesn’t even cover everything. August is packed for both of us. Whitney, in particular, will be out of town for 10 days on a work/vacation trip, which will significantly reduce the time she has available to wrap up these tasks—especially since most of the remaining work falls to her as the lead (and only) programmer.

We appreciate your continued patience and support as we work hard to get V2 into your hands. We’ll keep you posted with updates as we continue to make progress!
